The Cloud Services team designs and implements web services that add rich functionality to desktop assistive technology and drive the development of software licensing. The team develops, maintains, and enhances web services and applied AI services and websites in a hybrid on-premises / AWS / Azure environment. You'll work with teams across the organization to design software that meets business needs and improves operational efficiency while offering an outstanding and accessible user experience.
The Software Engineer is part of the Cloud Services team and works closely with the desktop Software Engineering team. The ideal candidate is independent, curious, and detail-oriented and thrives in a dynamic environment working with a variety of systems and users. The candidate must also be able to collaborate effectively with a remote team that is geographically distributed.
Scope of Work

- Work with various internal teams and external users to negotiate, define, and document software requirements.
- Build websites and services that interact with desktop software and other backend services in a maintainable way.
- Work closely with Software Engineering to design and implement user-facing connected services.
- Analyze and understand existing business systems in order to maintain and extend them.
- Design, implement, and support cloud infrastructure for Engineering resources and services on AWS and Azure.
- Learn and apply accessible design principles.
- Occasionally work outside of business hours to support deployments, maintenance events, or critical systems issues.
- Collaborate with staff across the organization to fulfill job responsibilities.
