We are assisting our client with a direct hire engineering role for their surge analysis team. They are seeking an engineer skilled in transient pressure analysis via pipeline modeling with Synergi Pipeline Simulator specifically.
This is a hybrid role in Tulsa, OK. They do offer relocation assistance.

Position Overview
This role involves specialized engineering and project oversight within key operational areas, such as pipeline system evaluation, surge modeling, and pressure regulation assessments. The position requires expertise in analyzing and optimizing pipeline operations while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Analysis & Optimization
Perform steady-state and transient pressure modeling to support liquid pipeline operations.Conduct surge modeling for infrastructure expansion and commercial projects, verifying operational pressure limits and communicating any necessary adjustments.Assess and validate overpressure protection strategies, including setpoints, sizing, and installation requirements. Provide technical recommendations and escalate potential deficiencies.Contribute to the design and specification of overpressure protection measures.Project Support & Technical Guidance
Assist project teams, field personnel, and various internal departments in maintaining pipeline integrity.Educate stakeholders on pipeline pressure management, overpressure mitigation techniques, and system performance.Support data collection initiatives related to pressure regulation and setpoint monitoring.Engineering & System Development
Provide expertise on equipment design, pipeline sizing, control systems, and operational processes.Oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of pipeline infrastructure and associated facilities.Ensure adherence to safety regulations, industry best practices, and organizational policies.Lead reviews of hydraulic modeling, valve sizing, flow analysis, and other technical evaluations.Analysis & Compliance
Conduct engineering studies and evaluate government regulations, industry codes, and system requirements.Review and approve bid proposals, cost estimates, material specifications, and construction contracts.Assess system efficiency, recommending improvements to enhance capacity and reduce operational costs.Act as a subject matter expert, mentoring less experienced engineers and supporting cross-functional initiatives.Strategic Leadership & Process Improvement
Develop and implement new processes to improve engineering workflows and operational efficiency.Anticipate industry changes and recommend training or development programs to keep the team aligned with emerging trends.Manage resources effectively, prioritizing projects based on business needs and value to the organization.Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related field.10 years of experience in engineering, operations, or project management within the pipeline or energy sector.Proficiency with pipeline modeling software (e.g., Synergi Pipeline Simulator) required .Strong background in pipeline operations, measurement, regulation, and storage systems.In-depth knowledge of engineering principles for natural gas, liquids, or NGL pipeline systems.Familiarity with pipeline stress analysis, material selection, and structural integrity assessments.Experience interpreting and applying industry regulations, blueprints, contracts, and technical specifications.Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Project, Access, and Word.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate with stakeholders, and communicate technical concepts effectively.
