Job Description: The teacher’s primary responsibilities and qualifications are listed below. All teachers report to their site administrator (s). The teacher is responsible for the development and performance of the courses they instruct. The teacher will foster a collaborative and stimulating classroom environment for a diverse group of students, as well as foster a strong collaboration between parents, faculty members, board members and community partners.
Responsibilities:
- Develops lesson plans according to the CA CCSS and CA State Content Standards
- Fosters a safe and nurturing learning environment
- Organizes classroom system/procedures and manages student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged in learning
- Establishes an environment where students are excited about learning
- Builds strong relationships with students and parents
- Identifies student areas for improvement and is able to work with the student and family and internal resources to suggest options for improvement
- Provides continual assessment of student progress, maintain student records and complete assigned paperwork in provided timeframes
- Collaborates with the Educational specialist and other staff to meet the needs of all students
- Attends and implements professional development training throughout and beyond the school year
- Demonstrates support and knowledge of school’s goals and mission
- Participates, attends and plans field trips
- Participates in school events during, before and after school
- Attends and participates in school based meetings and activities
Qualifications:
- Must possess a current California teaching credential
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Master’s degree in subject matter field or Education is strongly preferred
- Meet all NCLB requirements
- At times this job may entail lifting, walking, sitting and standing for periods of time
No new employee can begin employment until all local mandated trainings are completed and the fingerprints cards are processed by the California Department of Justice and it is determined that there is no criminal conviction that would prohibit the employee from working with students and staff.
Salary : $60,048 - $102,536
