Your Impact:
Student Achievement
- Lead and oversee the school’s instructional program (curriculum and assessment);
- Analyze student achievement data as well as teacher performance data on variety of metrics, both quantitative and qualitative, and use information to collaborate with the Principal and teaching staff;
- Working through the Leadership Team and Instructional Leads, ensure that every student shows dramatic achievement gains and that the school meets the ambitious performance goals;
- Oversee campus coordination and administration of all standardized student assessments and evaluations, including state assessments, interim assessments, and nationally normed assessments;
- Participate in ongoing professional development with fellow Principals with the support of the network Curriculum & Instruction team;
- Coach and manage the Assistant Principal-Instruction and oversee their teacher coaching systems, using the performance rubric as a guide;
- Coach and manage a portfolio of teachers and hold them accountable for holding all students to consistent, high academic and behavioral expectations for all students;
- Oversee school-wide and grade-wide professional development;
- Plan, deliver, and when appropriate, delegate planning and delivery of quality targeted professional development for all teachers and instructional staff;
- Working with the Assistant Principal-Operations, manage teachers’ administrative duties, and school-wide administrative tasks (e.g. family contact, report cards);
- Coach and manage the Assistant Principal-Culture with student culture and discipline, including behavioral crisis intervention;
- Build positive relationships with students grounded in respect, enthusiasm, achievement, courage, hard work and self-determination through structured social-emotional learning;
- Teach and reinforce VCP’s school-wide culture and behavior management systems;
- Ensure that school culture standards and behavioral expectations are met inside of the classroom as well as outside, including supervision and support of student safety and culture during bus rides, meal times, enrichment, and dismissal;
- Coach and manage the Assistant Principal - Operations and support their coaching and management of the Ops Team to ensure continued development of and alignment among team members;
- Oversee school operations and key vendor relationships as needed, possibly including but not limited to the National School Lunch Program, facilities, transportation;
- Oversee the creation and management of daily school systems and schedules;
- Cultivate communicative relationships with families, emphasizing families’ roles as collaborators and accountability partners for their student’s academic and behavioral performance, including attendance;
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student performance, attendance, and academic achievement;
- Respond to family concerns promptly and effectively;
- Support staff in coordinating family meetings and special events or delegate this support to a Leadership Team member;
- Lead and manage the campus Leadership Team (LT), Instructional Leads, Teachers and staff members;
- Collaborate with the LT to establish a positive, structured, achievement-oriented, and joyful school culture;
- Participate in regular leadership team meetings at the school level and network level;
- Lead student community meetings (i.e. morning motivation) or delegate to LT members;
- Oversee all school-wide routines such as lunch procedures and before/after-school plans;
- Oversee the development and implementation of schoolwide systems and safety protocols;
- Teach whole or small-group classes and/or intervention groups as assigned;
- Participate in additional activities including field trips, intensive academic support sessions, and other required programs as needed throughout the year

- Spanish proficiency or fluency preferred, but not required;
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s degree preferred and ability to obtain a valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card;
- Minimum of four years teaching and/or teacher coaching experience in an urban public school setting preferred, but not required
