Vista Construction & Development is seeking an experienced and motivated Excavation Foreman/Supervisor to lead and manage excavation crews on a variety of construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in site preparation, trenching, grading, and heavy equipment operation, while ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality at every stage. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage excavation crews, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and schedules.
- Coordinate daily tasks, including site preparation, trenching, grading, backfilling, and utility installations.
- Operate and oversee the use of heavy equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, and loaders.
- Interpret blueprints, site plans, and specifications to guide project execution.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to address challenges and ensure project milestones are met.
- Train and mentor crew members, promoting skill development and teamwork.
- Track materials, equipment usage, and labor hours, providing accurate reporting to management.
- Inspect completed work to verify quality and adherence to project requirements.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in excavation or site work, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating heavy equipment, understanding of excavation techniques, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with OSHA regulations, safety protocols, and environmental guidelines related to excavation work.
- Leadership: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a focus on team development.
- Certifications: Valid driver's license (CDL preferred), first-aid certification, and Competent Person Certification (preferred and will provide if necessary)
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
