Vista Construction & Development is seeking an experienced and motivated Excavation Foreman/Supervisor to lead and manage excavation crews on a variety of construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in site preparation, trenching, grading, and heavy equipment operation, while ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality at every stage. This role is pivotal to delivering successful outcomes for our projects, fostering a team-oriented environment, and upholding Vista Construction & Development's commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage excavation crews, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and schedules.
  • Coordinate daily tasks, including site preparation, trenching, grading, backfilling, and utility installations.
  • Operate and oversee the use of heavy equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, and loaders.
  • Interpret blueprints, site plans, and specifications to guide project execution.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to address challenges and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Train and mentor crew members, promoting skill development and teamwork.
  • Track materials, equipment usage, and labor hours, providing accurate reporting to management.
  • Inspect completed work to verify quality and adherence to project requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in excavation or site work, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating heavy equipment, understanding of excavation techniques, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with OSHA regulations, safety protocols, and environmental guidelines related to excavation work.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a focus on team development.
  • Certifications: Valid driver's license (CDL preferred), first-aid certification, and Competent Person Certification (preferred and will provide if necessary)
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
