Church Choir/Hand Bell Director

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director to serve the church by directing a small Choir and/or Hand Bell Choir at Vista de la Montaña near Catalina just north of Tucson off of Oracle Road.

Prefer to hire 1 candidate for both choirs but will consider hiring one person for each position

Responsibilities

• Oversee the musical growth and development of the choirs by
• Conducting weekly rehearsal at a designated time
• Rehearsing and preparing the Choir prior to Sunday Worship Service
• Schedule additional rehearsals as necessary for special music needs
• Encourage vocal and musical development of choir members
• Recruit new members for the Choirs
• Work closeley with the worship accompanist
• Select and purchase music appropriate for choirs' level of ability
• Special worship occasions include, but not limited to: Blue Christmas, ChristmasEve, Holy Week
• Work with the lead pastor to plan music that is in accordance with the United Methodist theology and liturgy

• Qualifications
• Evidence of passion for personal faith in Jesus Christ through attitude and actions along with practicing spiritual disciplines in order to grow spiritually.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor individuals and teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
• Exemplify time management and organizational skills. Have the ability to delegate.
• Experience with recruiting, training motivating and directing choirs and small groups.
• Prefer candidate have a degree in music

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 10 per week
