Value Creation Consultant

Position Summary

Vista’s Value Creation Team (VCT) is the operating arm of Vista Equity Partners, a leading global investor in enterprise software, data, and technology-enabled businesses.

Our team of operating executives, practice advisors, and consultants provide a differentiated understanding of how an enterprise software company can thrive, offering counsel and proven solutions to ensure Vista companies can grow, evolve, and excel in their markets.

With insights from hundreds of software investments made by Vista over two decades, VCT works alongside portfolio management teams to integrate best practices across go-to-market, business operations, talent management, and product & technology, as well as other strategic value creation initiatives to enhance our ecosystem of enterprise software companies.

We are looking for Associate-level leaders to join the Vista Value Creation Team – open for immediate start. This position will focus on working with Vista Endeavor Fund companies, which are typically between $10 – 30 Million in Annual Recurring Revenue when they enter the portfolio.

Responsibilities

Consultants will work closely with VCT colleagues, investment team members, and portfolio company executives to drive strategy and operations engagements across our portfolio companies on value creation initiatives that span the different functional areas of our companies. Common areas of focus include scaling go-to-market (designing sales territories, optimizing demand generation strategies, improving market segmentation and refining ideal customer profiles) and improving operational rigor (designing companywide dashboards, building processes and tooling for go-to-market pipeline analytics, and customer health scoring / retention analysis).

Analytics & Modeling:

• Provides analytical support and modeling for value creation projects and initiatives
• Presents analyses in a logical, credible, and thorough manner

Deliverable Development:

• Builds executive-ready deliverables and work product with best-in-class standards
• Develops fact-based conclusions that are supported by evidence and data 

Project & Team Management:

• Demonstrates ability to foster teamwork across multiple stakeholders on projects
• Works independently with little supervision when needed, applying creativity and personal initiative to keep projects moving forward

Qualifications

• Four-year degree from a top undergraduate institution preferred
• 2-4 years of software experience in revenue / sales operations or as business development team manager
• Interest in AI, software, technology, and data-enabled companies
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of time for both portfolio companies and internal purposes
• Strong leadership and project management skills, with experience in managing projects and communicating effectively
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to bring structure to large, complex questions with limited guidance and ability to multi-task on projects and operate independently

The pay range for this role is expected to be between $100,000 – 120,000. Base pay may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and applicant skillset. Base pay is one component of the total compensation package for employees, where other components may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
