Convenience Store Clerk

Vista Grade Villa, a non-profit senior living community, exists for the purpose of providing a quality continuum of care to enrich the lives of those we serve in a family environment. Seeking a passionate Convenience Store Clerk to join our TEAM! The Corner Store Clerk is responsible for the efficient function of the store.  The Corner Store is a service for the convenience of our residents. 

Essential Job Duties: 
Open and close store Monday through Friday. 

Place orders through established Vendors on a weekly basis

. 
Purchase items at local stores (once per week) within an established time limit of two to four hours, depending on need.  If only going to one store, such as Meijer, a maximum two-hour time frame will be expected. 

Receive orders from vendors, check for accuracy, price items, stock shelves or store items. 

Submit invoices to the front office for payment on a weekly basis. 

Balancing of cash drawer at the end each workday. 

 

Establish effective relationships with residents and co-workers. 

Complete inventory of store items on quarterly basis, or as directed. 

Maintain store and storage area in a safe and sanitary condition.  Keep shelves in the store neat, clean, and organized at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
High School Diploma. 

 Must be able to read, write, and speak English, follow written and oral instructions. 
 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: 
Work requires standing, walking, carrying, bending, stretching, stooping, pulling, pushing, and driving.  Requires frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.  Work involves mental and visual attention.  May be exposed to cleaning chemicals and offensive odors.
