What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engagement Coordinator position at VISTA MARIA?
TASKS OF THE POSITION
Volunteer Coordination
• In partnership with the Mentor & Volunteer Coordinator, this role will recruit, select, communicate
with, place, and schedule volunteers and volunteer groups
• Perform volunteer background screenings and maintain volunteer records
• Communicate across departments to meet the volunteer needs of the youth and campus
• Ensure all fundraising events are staffed appropriately with volunteers
In-Kind Donations
• Respond to all donation inquiries in a timely manner and schedule donation drop-offs as
appropriate
• Monitor the Vista Maria Boutique inventory and place boutique orders as needed
• With the Mentor & Volunteer Coordinator and Senior Manager of Community Engagement, support
all aspects of the Holiday Wish List program
Social Media
• Regularly attend residential activities, community programs, and special events to take photos and
videos to share on social media, in newsletters, reports, grant applications, and other marketing
materials
• Cascade media and narrative content to our Account Manager at Brogan & Partners for inclusion
in marketing materials
• Help monitor social media for mentions and comments, and respond as appropriate
Marketing & Communications
• Create basic flyers, event materials, and other internal collateral
• Manage the info@vistamaria.org inbox daily and cascade messages as appropriate
• Support community outreach events (nonprofit fairs, community presentations, etc.)
• Monitor our brand reputation online (Indeed, Google, Glassdoor, etc.)
• Help keep marketing materials current, including documents and branded giveaway items
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Strong organizational skills, reflecting the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks.
• The ability to build relationships with various external and internal stakeholders (staff, volunteers,
donors, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to compose and/or edit written materials.
• Basic design skills, using Canva
• Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings for volunteer programs and fundraising events
