Responsibilities
- Create work instructions and/or operating procedures for new and existing equipment and products.
- Complete time studies and capacity analysis for bottleneck equipment.
- Document machine change over tasks and troubleshooting guides to improve machine uptime.
- Support the Quality Engineering and Operations staff in process improvement activities
- Engineering student in an accredited technical college or university. Prefer Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, and time management skills
- Proficient at handling ambiguity and dealing with multiple priorities
- Continuous improvement and results oriented
- Strong interest in working for Federal Ammunition / Vista Outdoor.
- Hands on experience with Six Sigma tools and lean manufacturing concepts
- CAD experience (SolidWorks)
- Statistical problem solving skills such as DOE using Minitab
- Small Caliber ammunition manufacturing experience
- Experience using a variety of gages and/or measurement systems
- Generate reports and summaries of data and work performed.
- Perform process capability studies as needed.
- Perform root cause analysis on manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
- Monday thru Friday schedule (8-9 hour days)
- Target internship dates: May 2024 - August 2024
