Overview:
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Web Developer at VIstaGraphics, Inc. located in Virginia Beach, VA. The Senior Web Developer will be responsible for back-end and front-end web development, programming, web design, and overall web development tasks.
You will oversee the development of our web projects, managing both internal publication websites and client sites in an agency setting.
This pivotal role combines technical expertise to produce WordPress-focused websites. Your work directly supports the company’s mission to enhance digital publishing and provide innovative solutions for both internally managed and client-owned websites.
Responsibilities/Skills:
• Maintain all internal websites. Troubleshoot, and manage website functionalities, including WordPress core, themes, & plugin updates; PHP updates; and user portals.
• Proficient in using and building WordPress CMS, Elementor Pro (using and installing themes, child themes, plugins, etc.)
• Back-End Web Development and Programming skills
• Front-End Development and Web Design skills
• Develop/Launch new sites as needed per best practices (WHM/cPanel hosting environment).
• Designing and developing website's architecture as well as building new features and functionalities.
• Building and implementing new themes and plugins.
• Building the website front-end and conducting website performance tests.
• Support responsive design for mobile and desktop users.
• Integrate tools like Google Analytics 4 for performance tracking and reporting and Webmaster Tools.
• Understanding of Google Adwords, SEO, PPC Campaigns, etc.
• Optimize site performance, implement updates and debug complex technical issues.
• Analyzing website performance and troubleshooting errors.
• Experience in PhotoShop with an eye for composition and color
• Experience in CSS and HTML (editing and creating custom)
• Experience with other Content Management Systems
• Knowledge of industry laws and company regulations
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery
• Good communication skills and attention to detail
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Web Development of Computer Science
• 5 years' of experience using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Proficiency in at least one server-side technology (Java, PHP, Python, MySQL)
• App Development knowledge a plus but not required
