Scientists, Preclinical Development
Travel required: Less than 5% of domestic travel required.
Job Duties:
1. Work cross-functionally with research and pharmaceutical sciences teams to support transition of candidates from research to development;
2. Conduct specificity/binding experiments, ex vivo cytokine secretion assays, potency and other cell-based functional assays to help characterize and support new programs entering the development phase;
3. Review, analyze, interpret and present data at internal and/or cross functional team meetings;
4. Provide input on nonclinical strategy to enable first in human studies;
5. Write/review study reports to support IND or CTA filings;
6. Provide support for regulatory submissions as needed; and
7. Perform independent literature reviews on relevant diseases, biomarkers, and therapeutics to advance understanding of nonclinical programs.
Telecommuting is an option. No more than 2 days a month as long as the candidate resides within commuting distance of Waltham, MA, as the position requires the candidate to be in the lab majority of the time.
The employer requires the candidate to have a doctorate degree in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Immunology or closely related field and at least one (1) year of post-graduate work experience in any occupation performing research in either academic or biotech setting researching antibody therapeutics. Candidate must also have the following:
1) Demonstrated knowledge of immunology and preclinical development gained through one (1) year of research experience post graduation in either an academic or biotech setting.
2) Demonstrated ability writing and reviewing non-clinical reports for IND, executing experiments independently, documenting results, and performing quality review of data from both internal and outsourced studies gained through at least one (1) year of research experience post graduation in either an academic or biotech setting.
3) Demonstrated knowledge of Investigational New Drug (IND) applications and data packages gained through at least one (1) year of work experience.
4) Demonstrated ability binding assay using Octet or similar methods gained through one (1) year of work experience.
5) Demonstrated knowledge of general multi-parameter flow cytometry to evaluate cell surface binding, primary cell toxicity and immunophenotyping of whole blood and bone marrow derived from human and/or Non-human primates (cynomolgus monkeys and Rhesus monkeys) gained through one (1) year of work experience.
6) Demonstrated knowledge of protein production and purification gained through one (1) year of work experience.
All years of work experience may be gained concurrently.
Alternatively, the employer requires the candidate to have a master’s degree in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Immunology or closely related field and at least four (4) years of post-graduate work experience in any occupation performing research in either academic or biotech setting researching antibody therapeutics. Candidate must also have the following:
1) Demonstrated knowledge of immunology and
preclinical development gained through one (1) year of research work experience in either an academic or biotech setting.
2) Demonstrated ability writing and reviewing non-clinical reports for IND, executing experiments independently, document results, and perform quality review of data from both internal and outsourced studies gained through at least two (2) years of research work experience in either an academic or biotech setting.
