Job Summary
In this highly visible and dynamic role, the Manager, Corporate Development and Finance will be responsible for modeling efforts related to the Vistra Development pipeline to assess investment opportunities and support internal reporting and management presentations.
Responsibilities include overseeing the development of financial models for all renewable and fossil fuel assets included in the Vistra development pipeline.
This role will include cross collaboration and high visibility with a variety of Vistra internal teams such as Tax, Planning, Treasury, Commercial, Regulatory, etc.
This role will gain exposure to Vistra's business segments (TXU Energy, Luminant, Dynegy) and knowledge of the power industry while developing important analytical and communication skills.
This role will be part of an elite team that interfaces and directly supports Vistra's senior leadership, external consultants, and other key stakeholders.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee the development and maintenance of all financial models associated with the Vistra development pipeline, which will require interfacing with groups across the entire Vistra organization. Financial models will be utilized by senior leadership to assess investment decisions for the company
- Responsible for providing pricing and returns analysis related to marketing efforts for the Vistra pipeline
- Lead scenario analyses around offtake opportunities, capital structure sensitivities, acquisition opportunities, optimizing site design, etc.
- Support and help lead financing initiatives for the Vistra development pipeline such as traditional project finance with banks or Department of Energy loans. This would include being responsible for financial models and overseeing data collection to support due diligence efforts
- Support strategic initiatives within the company such as new market entry assessment or regulatory initiatives
- Responsible for overseeing internal / external reporting materials to track actual and expected performance metrics associated with the Vistra pipeline
- Prepare materials / presentations to present Vistra investment opportunities to leadership
- Strong communication skills and internal network with Vistra is required
- Strong financial modeling skills in Excel and be proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint
- Strong understanding of power markets and renewable energy is preferable
