About the role

VSCO is hiring a Senior Visual Designer to craft compelling and innovative visual designs for our wide range of brand touch points. In this role, you'll create captivating visuals that resonate with our global creative audience, spanning our website, social channels, web and native products, and our ongoing programs and special events. As a key member of our dynamic Brand Story team, you'll also collaborate closely with Product Design and Marketing teams while taking ownership of the production and delivery of design assets that reflect the creative authenticity and exceptional quality of the VSCO brand. This is a unique opportunity to design for a vibrant community of talented creators. Your work will inspire millions of artists worldwide, amplifying the best photography from our community and influencing the creative industry at large.

The day-to-day

  • Take ownership of asset production throughout the entire design lifecycle - following defined direction from creative leads through to pixel-perfect execution of designs.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Curation, and Product Design teams to seamlessly integrate product and market strategies.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our Brand system, and act as a passionate advocate for its core principles.
  • Infuse fresh perspectives into your work, constantly seeking innovative ways to evolve and engage our audience.
  • Champion the voices of creators within our community, representing them with conceptual integrity throughout your work.
  • Work closely with the Curation team to uphold and evolve best practices for showcasing community work in impactful and meaningful ways.
  • Maintain the highest standards of quality in design delivery, with meticulous attention to detail during the final handoff and QA process.

Qualifications

  • A strong foundation in color, typography, composition, graphic illustration, and incorporation of imagery through visual storytelling.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates the ability to work with a variety of styles, strong adherence to brand systems, and refinement in simple executions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, demonstrating the ability to design within constraints while prioritizing accessibility and respecting safe areas.
  • Proven ability to manage and execute multiple projects with overlapping production timelines.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach to soliciting and responding to feedback in a remote work environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Figma and Adobe CS, with the ability to adapt and create new templates for efficient teamwork.
  • Experience in an agile, start-up environment.

    Compensation

    The base salary for this position may vary based on several factors, including the approved job level. The base salary range for this role is $145,000 - $160,000. Salary is one component of our total compensation package. This position also qualifies for equity (i.e. stock options) and is eligible for discretionary bonuses based on performance. The benefits available for this position include flexible time off, a 401K retirement plan, insurance (medical, dental, vision, life / AD&D, short and long term disability), and 11 paid holidays. We also provide paid sick time as required by state and local law. Additional benefits and perks contained in our standard employee benefits package are also offered for this position.
