Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients while ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the practice. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the dental team.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays, to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Document patient medical histories and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
- Utilize 3D scanners for impressions as needed for various treatments.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow to optimize office operations.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing and maintaining medical documentation.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and general dental practices.
- Familiarity with Eaglesoft or similar dental practice management software is preferred.
- Experience in medical documentation and maintaining patient confidentiality is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Previous experience in a dental assistant role is a plus but not required; we are willing to train motivated candidates.
- Certification in CPR or First Aid is desirable.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
