Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting pharmacists in providing high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients in an outpatient setting. Your expertise will contribute to the safe and effective administration of medications, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Duties
- Prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Assist in IV infusion preparation and medication administration for patients requiring chronic and acute care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles, ensuring compliance with medical terminology and pharmacy regulations.
- Submitting prior authorizations and approvals for medications.
- Maintaining compliance with CH 797.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications and treatments.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support critical care initiatives and improve patient care outcomes.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area, adhering to safety protocols.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with pharmacy practices.
Experience
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
- Previous experience in an acute care or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with IV infusion processes and medication administration techniques is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
- Excellent communication skills, with a focus on providing outstanding patient service.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
