SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Maintenance Foreman - Midland Basin is responsible for management, execution, and continuous improvement of the production operations Maintenance Program to ensure it is completed safely, with high quality, and in accordance with regulatory requirements and company expectations. The maintenance program includes approximately 120,000 BOED (60,000 BOPD) of Midland Basin production assets, including typical wells, infrastructure, and tank batteries. The role will interface with the Delaware Basin maintenance foreman, compressor foreman, midstream superintendent, brownfield engineering, I&E foreman, and others to ensure appropriate maintenance plans are in place and functioning. The role will also include directing brownfield construction-related activities from initial conception through completion. Provides planning and documentation support of routine maintenance related to surface infrastructure. Implements and administers company policies and procedures as delegated by management. The Maintenance Foreman - Midland Basin will supervise multiple Vital Energy technicians, as well as occasionally supervise contract crews related to oil and gas facilities, pipeline construction, and repair operations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under supervision, responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following essential functions:
Provide safety leadership in the field to ensure that jobs are completed incident-free
Perform work in a manner that ensures the secure and environmentally safe operation of all assigned equipment.
Point person for coordinating the maintenance and timely repair of existing Vital Energy infrastructure.
Manage the computer maintenance management system equipment types, maintenance intervals, and progress. Able to make system recommendations and ensure compliance.
Able to communicate across multiple disciplines within the organization to meet team objectives. (Superintendents, Foreman, Engineers, I&E, EHS, and others as necessary)
Identify problems and/or recommend courses of action to the supervisor to decrease costs and increase production.
Manage the selection and evaluations of 3rd party contractors on-site to achieve required job tasks.
Assist in the screening and selection of properly qualified contractors to work on Vital locations.
Able to generate a detailed bill of materials to complete maintenance tasks of Facilities.
Review and approve invoices related to the team's scope of work.
Provide input into the forecasting of Capital as well as lease operating expense.
Manage the schedule and timing of tasks associated with the team.
Ensures all documentation required by company standards is collected for document retention.
Ensures Vital employees and contractors adhere to local, company, state, and federal rules, regulations, and policies.
Maintains regulatory compliance by coordinating closely with the EH&S and Air Quality departments.
Acts as the main point of contact for contractors, vendors, outside agencies, and company personnel necessary to support maintenance operations.
Ensures vendors are on AVL, bids are handled with appropriate internal controls, and the appropriate work orders and POs are in place.
Documents progress and operational costs through the use of reports, graphs, and/or other means.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 8 years of oilfield experience including supervisory experience.
Skills:
Communication skills, ability to build relationships and align cross-functionally on maintenance system compliance and help build a culture of operational excellence in maintenance
Detailed knowledge of managing the facilities' construction operations for a multi-rig drilling program and/or relevant production experience in a safe and efficient manner
Detailed knowledge of inspection, testing, and preventative maintenance for typical Permian oil field assets
Proficient and knowledgeable of current industry computer maintenance management software programs and able to make recommendations and manage the system execution effectively
Effective project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
Skilled in generating Bill of Materials, equipment design considerations, supervising 3rd parties, and SiteView software experience preferred
Computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees in the organization.
Demonstrates knowledge of economic evaluations and indicators and their effect on the area of responsibility.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is normally performed outdoors where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes, and gases is common. Noise level is moderate to loud and includes sounds of construction, equipment operations, trucks, and other similar equipment. Job hazards include working in normal light and heavy construction activities and working around pressured equipment, water, electricity, and high pressure oil/gas lines and under all weather conditions. May work in areas where H2S is present. Overtime is sometimes required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate a computer keyboard at a moderate skill level. Work may require frequent pushing, pulling, or carrying of 50-to-75-pound objects such as tools, or equipment work operations. Work involves standing and walking most of the time but will also involve sitting and driving for extended periods sometimes over rough terrain.
