SEEKING A SOLAR SERVICE TECHNICIAN
We are looking for a Solar Service Technician to join our outstanding team.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoot basic electrical wiring both DC and AC.
- Troubleshoot basic networking, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and solar monitoring.
- Use electrical meters and equipment to test for voltage, amperage, and continuity.
- Have an understanding of a variety of solar inverters, micro-inverters, optimizers, and battery systems.
- Troubleshoot and track down basic ground fault issues.
- Communicate with solar inverter tech support teams to troubleshoot and resolve inverter issues.
- Keep detailed records and create service reports to be shared with the operations team through the company's CRM.
- Maintain a current knowledge of solar/electrical code.
- Comply with all company and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
- Completion of all service and warranty-related work.
- Ensure attention to detail with an emphasis on Safety, Quality, and Customer Satisfaction..
- Work to problem-solve and resolve service issues independently as a solar service professional.
- Follow the RMA process, including following up to ensure it is done in a timely manner.
- Responsible for auditing, monitoring, quarterly check-ins and annual functionality on all operational commercial projects (See SOP for specific requirements ex; notify business of possible power shut-off).
- Responsible for maintaining a clean, organized work truck at all times.
- Notifying Fleet Coordinator of any repairs/maintenance needed.
- Completion of weekly truck inspections in Fleetio.
- Responsible for locking all doors, ladders, toolboxes, etc., any time the truck is left unattended
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 6 years’ electrical experience
- 5 years’ experience in the solar electric industry
- Current, valid Driver’s license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
- Proficient in speaking, reading and writing English
- Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC)
- CA Electrical Training card or ability to obtain in 90 days
