We are seeking a Clinical Director who is passionate about treatment for behavioral health and substance use disorders and who wishes to partner with the Vital Health team to take our client-centered treatment philosophy to the next level.
The Clinical Director will contribute to the overall performance and operations of Vital Health’s in-house and community programs and assist with compliance to OhioMHAS and Joint Commission guidelines.

Position requirements:
· Master’s degree in a behavioral health science (or related field from an accredited college or university)
· Fully licensed mental health professional (i.e., LPCC-S, LMFT, LISW-S, etc.) in Ohio for at least 2 years (Supervisory designation required)
- Previous experience supervising clinical staff including social workers and case managers (2 years preferred)
- Experience running ambulatory detox programs, day treatment, PHP and IOP programs.
- Must be familiar with MAT programs.
- Experience with Youth behavioral health and community outreach programs is desirable.
Responsibilities:
1. Help to recruit, hire, onboard and supervise unique, fun-loving and effective clinicians.
2. Assist with the management of clinic performance according to Ellie standards and in alignment with human resources best practices including: handling PTO requests, expense reimbursements, CEU requests, mediating issues and concerns, managing clinic office schedules, reviewing productivity, caseload, and clinical documentation, implementing performance coaching, performance improvement plans, supervision plans, conducting annual performance reviews and handing termination processes.
3. Provide training and ongoing developmental support for staff to support the overall health of the clinic including conducting regular consultations with the CEO to implement strategies for fiscal and clinical efficiency and to identify opportunities to improve client care, quality, and effectiveness.
4. Meet financial goals.
5. Market clinical services.
6. Build community partnerships and referrals.
7. Provide timely response to concerns raised by clients, clinicians, or external stakeholders.
8. Implement Ellie policies and procedures, including updating clinicians of changes related to Ellie clinical operations (i.e., policy changes, HR regulations, IT systems, EHR (KIPU) requirements and best practices, workflows, clinic updates, compliance expectations, etc.).
9. Manage a comfortable individual clinical caseload for each employee
Desired experience, skills and abilities include:
- Experience running ambulatory detox programs, PHP, IOP, Youth behavioral health and community outreach programs. Familiarity with MAT programs.
- Ability to want to grow with the company in new offices.
- Implementing a strong culture and structure within Vital Health.
- At least 2 years supervising social workers and case managers
- Strong working knowledge of state regulations for mental health practices
- Vision for recruiting therapist peers
- Excellent verbal, written, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management, organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to be flexible and function in a changing environment
- Adept with Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record platforms
