Vital Health is seeking a qualified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our outpatient mental health clinic, providing comprehensive psychiatric care to both adult and pediatric patients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, with a focus on delivering compassionate care tailored to the unique needs of each individual. This position offers both part-time and full-time opportunities, allowing flexibility to accommodate varying schedules.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations of adult and pediatric patients to assess mental health needs, including diagnostic interviews, mental status examinations, and review of medical history.
- Formulate comprehensive treatment plans based on assessment findings, incorporating evidence-based interventions, medication management, and psychotherapy techniques as appropriate.
- Monitor and adjust medication regimens in accordance with patient response, side effects, and treatment goals, ensuring optimal therapeutic outcomes.
- Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, and strategies for symptom management and relapse prevention.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and counselors, to coordinate integrated care and support patient wellness.
- Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and confidentiality requirements.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities, including continuing education, training workshops, and quality improvement initiatives, to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with specialization in psychiatric/mental health nursing.
- Current certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from an accredited program.
- Active state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority, with eligibility for DEA registration.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in psychiatric mental health practice, preferably in an outpatient setting.
- Experience working with both adult and pediatric populations, with proficiency in child and adolescent psychiatric assessment and treatment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
- Commitment to providing patient-centered care with empathy, respect, and cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer skills. We currently use KIPU.
