Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health care, including diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, and ongoing management of psychiatric conditions. You will work closely with patients of all ages, including children and seniors, to promote their mental well-being and support their recovery journey.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations and physical examinations to assess patients' mental health needs.
- Perform specimen collection processing as necessary for diagnostic purposes.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and evidence-based practices.
- Provide family planning counseling and support for patients as needed.
- Offer care for senior patients, addressing their unique mental health challenges.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with ICD-9 coding standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Stay informed about advancements in psychiatric care and participate in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
- Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with certification in psychiatric nursing preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and psychiatric disorders relevant to patient care.
- Experience working with children and families in a mental health setting is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing patient documentation and care plans.
