Vital Research is seeking a Bilingual Data Collection Assistant (May 6, 2025, through December 31, 2025) who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys frequent domestic travel. In this role, you’ll spend 40-50% of your time visiting participants at various locations, conducting interviews, and gathering high-quality data. What You’ll Do
- Hit the road! Travel frequently (40-50% of the time) to conduct in-person, semi-structured interviews with study participants, following research protocols.
- Conduct virtual interviews via phone or video when needed.
- Clearly explain the purpose of the research and obtain informed consent from participants.
- Accurately record responses using electronic or paper-based tools while maintaining data integrity.
- Ensure confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Manage scheduling and logistics to meet research project needs.
- Conduct quality assurance checks by reviewing data and verifying responses.
- Address participant questions while remaining neutral and objective.
- Comply with confidentiality guidelines, federal HIPAA regulations, and data security requirements.
Who You Are
- Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
- Bilingual – Fluency in Spanish/English or Mandarin/Cantonese/English.
- Education – Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or a related field preferred.
- Experience – At least one year of administrative, data collection, or research experience.
- Availability – Must be available Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM PST, with flexibility for some evenings/weekends.
- Love for Travel – Reliable transportation and a willingness to travel 40-50% of the time to different locations.
- People Skills – Strong ability to engage with individuals from diverse educational, cultural, and social backgrounds.
- Attention to Detail – Accuracy in data collection and an aptitude for problem-solving.
- Tech-Savvy – Proficiency using tablets, video conferencing tools, and survey platforms.
- Team Player – Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
