Job Summary:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team. As a DSP, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, helping them live fulfilling and independent lives. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily activities, fostering personal growth, and promoting community integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with household tasks, meal preparation, and transportation to appointments and community activities.
- Support individuals in developing social skills, communication, and life skills.
- Encourage and empower individuals to make decisions about their daily lives.
- Create a safe, positive, and respectful environment for individuals, ensuring their dignity and privacy.
- Monitor and document individuals’ progress and health status, reporting any concerns to supervisors.
- Work collaboratively with families, healthcare providers, and other team members to ensure comprehensive support.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in social services or related field preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and patient in stressful situations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required for community outings and appointments.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
