Job Purpose :
The Principal Data Architect is responsible for developing and implementing a data management strategy for Vital Strategies. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the individual will lead the design, development, implementation, and management of the organization's data architecture and will work directly with teams across the organization to design and engineer a robust, efficient, secure data infrastructure that aligns with our business objectives and technology strategy. Vital Strategies is committed to using data to create better health outcomes; and this position will be a thought-partner to our programmatic leadership in optimizing the management and use of data to achieve this objective, as well as working with global colleagues and partners to identify, enhance and build technology products aimed at improving public health. The role demands significant business awareness and emotional intelligence with the ability to adapt communication to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders.
This is a full-time position, operating on EST time zone hours in a hybrid environment. The candidate must be located in the U.S., Brazil, or Canada. Vital Strategies offers highly competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits. The U.S. salary range for this position is $140,000-$169,000 USD. For other locations the salary ranges will be based on local market. The candidate must have authorization to work legally in the advertised locations at the time of hire.
Primary areas of focus for the Principal Data Architect include :
- Data Strategy and Architecture : Develop and maintain the organization's strategic data architecture, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technological innovations.
- Infrastructure Design : Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, engineer, and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data systems that support the organization's needs.
- Collaboration and Thought Leadership : Partner with programmatic leaders and global colleagues to optimize data management practices and spearhead technology innovations that enhance public health outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement : Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, tailoring messaging to suit both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Data Security and Compliance : Establish and enforce policies and procedures to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations, safeguarding sensitive organizational and public health data.
- Innovation and Product Development : Work with global partners to identify opportunities to enhance and develop technology products aimed at improving public health.
