The Behavioral Health Professional will work as part of a multidisciplinary team with all other disciplines on the Behavioral Health Unit to provide a proactive and collaborative approach in serving the patient population.
Sud Assessment Specialist Minimum Requirements
- Graduation from a Bachelor's level program or higher in behavioral science.
- Minimum of two years employment in a clinician/counselor/social work capacity in a public or private agency or equivalent preferred.
- Must have a substance use certification (i.e., CADC, CAADC) or must be actively working towards attaining a substance use certification and must obtain the certification within two years of hire.
- Individuals who are not certified must be under the direct supervision of a certified clinical supervisor with written documentation of supervision.
- Flexibility of working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Professionals will provide crisis stabilization, complete intakes and on-going evaluations, and provide consultation to in-house and community services.
- The SUD Assessment Specialist ill conduct risk assessments on clients to determine SUD Treatment needs - will coordinate with interdisciplinary team including medical, DOC and Reentry.
- The SUD Assessment Specialist will be responsible for maintaining a small caseload along with facilitating groups within the residential SUD Treatment program
- The SUD Assessment Specialist provides the necessary preparation of documentation, necessary records and reports.
- The SUD Assessment Specialist will utilize evidence-based best practices in their approach to service provision. The SUD Program Counselor promotes client growth through coordination of both structured and unstructured treatment activities. Primary responsibility shall involve face to face and group counseling, record keeping, daily program activities, treatment planning, group sessions, individual sessions, discharge/transition planning, and crisis management. Utilizing approved curriculum, the SUD Program Counselor will provide education to Psychiatry, Mental Health, Security and Treatment teams, as part of a collaborative treatment approach.
- The ideal candidate is able to make independent clinical decisions, while utilizing assistance and supervisory intervention, as needed.
- Excellent and timely documentation skills required.
- Experience with clinical assessments preferred.
