The Role
We are seeking a Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in St. Charles County Corrections, Missouri. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering quality care within the scope of practice as outlined by the local state nurse practice act.
Responsibilities and Requirements
- Provide quality care to patients, implement nursing interventions, and make assignments of duties to others as defined in the state of practice act.
- Assist in the development and implementation of teaching plans based on individual patient needs.
- Care for wounds with appropriate cleaning and dressing/bandaging, and administer medications to offenders.
- Monitor vital signs and report changes to medical staff, documenting actions in the MAR and medical records.
- Meet the requirements of a graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program and currently licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of employment.
- Possess an active CPR certification and remain knowledgeable about specific state laws and regulations governing practice.
