Job Description:
VitalCore Health Strategies, an industry leader in Correctional Health Care, has an opening for a Per Diem, Day Shift Psychiatrist at the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Lancaster, MA.
The Chief Psychiatrist provides diagnostic evaluation and treatment to patients as well as psychiatric consultation, diagnosis, and treatment to patients. The Chief Psychiatrist provides clinical direction, general supervision, and training to the site staff, and has other managerial responsibilities.
- Must be a graduate of medical school and have completed an appropriate psychiatric residency.
- Must be licensed to practice in the state of Virginia and certified by the Office of Behavioral Health to provide psychiatric services in a licensed inpatient unit.
- Must have current DEA number.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing onsite psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of those inmates referred by the medical and clinical services staff. They will also provide written summaries of history, diagnosis and treatment course.
The Psychiatrist will work closely with the site staff to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient. They will also be responsible for providing in-service education to the site staff as needed.
