SCHEDULER POSITION SUMMARY
The Scheduler manages all patient appointments and healthcare provider schedules within the medical facility or office. The Scheduler will coordinate appointments and cancellations, maintain provider schedules, and ensure effective communication between patients and staff.
SCHEDULER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Proficient with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Schedule patient appointments based on needs and provider availability
- Communicate appointment details and changes to patients and staff
- Manage cancellations, rescheduling, and no-shows
- Organize provider schedules and ensure efficient use of resources
- Input data into EHR systems and update patient records
- Maintain patient confidentiality by following the rules and guidelines of HIPAA
- Ensure smooth daily, weekly, and monthly scheduling for all departments
- Maintain strong organizational and communication skills
- Attend training and meetings as required
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma; medical administration certification
- Experience in medical scheduling or healthcare administration preferred
- Proficiency in EHR systems and medical scheduling software preferred
