Position Summary:
Vitality Works is looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to be responsible for the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) which includes rebuilding, repairing and maintenance of processing, packaging and auxiliary equipment used primarily in the food processing industry. Work includes, but is not limited to troubleshooting equipment, ensuring equipment is in a safe operating state, reading and interpreting manuals and work orders, maintaining a clean, safe work environment, and active participation in training and mentoring, to achieve continuous improvement and highest efficiency and output.
Position Responsibilities:
- Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
- Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts: Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, motors, and positions sensing devices.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as wiring, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
- Utilize best methods to source replacement parts and or services to ensure equipment efficiency is maintained and a proper spares inventory is maintained.
- Assists in troubleshooting malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
- Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers.
- Help to troubleshoot faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines
- and equipment.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) as scheduled for various equipment.
Qualifications
Skills & Requirements:
- Technical certificate demonstrating competency in education required or four (4) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in equipment maintenance field.
- Experience in food processing/manufacturing environment a plus.
- Requires electrical, mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to communicate with Management and Production staff is crucial.
- Operation and knowledge of Ohms meter.
- Demonstrated proficiency with hand and power tools: Wrenches, drills, press’, welders TIG/MIG a plus.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
- The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Physical ability to occasionally bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
