The objective of the QC Chemist position is to perform analytical testing of incoming raw materials, in-process samples, stability and finished goods within the QC Laboratory.
Position: QC Senior Chemist
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
Chemists Essential Job Functions:
- The Chemist will perform daily testing of incoming samples using wet chemical and instrumental techniques
- Chemist maintain and record analytical date within prescribed notebooks
- Compile lab results and issue completed worksheets for final review
- Prepare various laboratory reagents as required for daily operations
- Provide peer review of other Chemists' work as needed
- Perform various daily laboratory maintenance duties as instructed by the Lab Manager, i.e. lab waste disposal, glassware & pipette washing, LC column cleaning, reagent inventories, etc.
- Ability to provide instruction and basic training to other chemists and technicians
Chemists Knowledge:
- Chemist must be proficient in common PC functions, Word, Excel, etc.
- Must be well organized and detail oriented
- Must have 3-5 years UPLC/ HPLC and Empower experience
- Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
- Must be knowledgeable in basic laboratory reagent preparation, labeling and handling
- Proficient in all common laboratory techniques and instrumentation
- Demonstrate proficiency in specialty techniques such as HPLC, ICP or GC.
- Competent in performing basic mathematical and scientific calculations as they relate to job function
Chemists Minimum Qualifications:
- BS degree in physical science or related education experience
- 3-5 years previous laboratory experience
- Must have min. 2 year experience in ICP-MS Heavy Metals validation work using Perkin Elmer (Nexion instrument)
