General Laborer/Warehouse

General Laborer - Food Distributor

This is a warehouse position responsible for operating an electric pallet jack, or low-level picker, to select the correct products using a handheld scanner technology, palletizing products to build customer orders and delivering the product to the dock safely and efficiently. The job requires working in areas with temperature and humidity variations based on local weather conditions, and on selecting the environment (dry, cooler, freezer).

Extremely physical job; must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs

• Hand-select orders in various temperature-controlled warehouse environments (dry, cooler, and freezer).
• Operate a handheld scanner to locate and select products.
• Stack products on pallets, following proper procedures (e.g., no heavy-on-light stacking, labels facing out).
• Operate an electric pallet jack or forklift to transport products.
• 6 months of experience operating an electric pallet jack or low-level picker. All candidates will be tested prior to receiving an offer of employment.

General Laborer pay starts at $20.00 per hour and after a 60-day/480-hour successful probationary period is met; the title will be changed to Order Selector and the hourly rate will be increased to $23.00.

This is an entry level position to full time graveyard warehouse.

• Must be able to climb stairs/ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and reach with both hands and arms repetitively throughout the day
• Must be able to withstand heights and cooler and/or freezer like temperatures.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. repetitively

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
