Position Summary
The Par 3 Starter plays a key role in ensuring an excellent experience for all guests playing the 9-hole Par 3 course at Vitense Golfland. This team member is responsible for welcoming guests, checking tee times and receipts, enforcing course rules and etiquette, and maintaining a clean and safe playing environment. The Par 3 Starter is often the first point of contact for guests on the course and sets the tone for a positive and high-quality golf experience.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Interaction & Course Oversight
Welcome players and confirm tee times using a tablet or tee sheet
Verify guest receipts and ensure all players are checked in properly
Explain course rules, pace of play expectations, and etiquette
Maintain a positive and approachable presence on the course
Monitor player behavior and address violations of etiquette or safety standards
Maintenance & Course Upkeep
Drive a golf cart around the course to monitor safety, pace of play, and overall course condition
Rake bunkers, repair/fill divots, and clean up debris to keep the course in top shape
Collect rogue range balls and return them to the proper area
Report any damage or hazards to management
Monitor quality and cleanliness of tee boxes and greens
Communication & Support
Use radio to communicate with the front counter and MOD regarding guest issues, delays, or course updates
Provide feedback on pace of play and guest behavior as needed
Ensure tee times are moving efficiently and alert counter if delays occur
Serve as a point of contact for guest questions or concerns on the course
Qualifications
Friendly, professional, and comfortable engaging with guests
Strong knowledge of golf etiquette and basic rules (or willingness to learn)
Ability to stay active, walk the course, and work outdoors in varying conditions
Strong attention to detail and sense of responsibility for the course appearance
Ability to work independently and stay on task without constant supervision
Must be at least 16 years old
