What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Support Specialist position at Viterra US?
Job Summary:
Provides support in all areas of elevator operations resulting from the purchases and sales of commodities from contract to settlement and OneWeigh systems support.
Essential Job Functions:
- Establish and maintain a positive and effective relationship with the system users to create a strong business partnership.
- Fully understand all aspects of elevator and cross country invoicing and trade support functions and the corresponding systems.
- Have a solid understanding of all trading platforms, grain positions and the impact to the P & L each trade operational task has.
- Train users on the use of the software products and processes.
- Ensure period end processing is completed accurately and timely.
- Provide various information, as needed, to the business managers, and corresponding management team, to effectively analyze the results of business operations.
- Participate in periodic on-call rotations.
- Work proactively to ensure all policies are followed.
- Learn and effectively utilize all applicable operational systems.
- Provide support for testing of new system enhancements.
- Support Viterra’s current operational improvement initiatives and identify additional opportunities to increase business efficiencies and customer/supplier interface.
Other Job Functions:
- Additional tasks as assigned by department and/or management
Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Commodity industry and commodity system experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of financial trading required.
- Some travel required.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Must be able to work proficiently with Microsoft Office applications.
