Job Summary
The Operations Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership and technical expertise to ensure the effective management of facility operations. This includes inventory control, operational cost control, logistics, maintenance, talent management, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Develop and implement effective inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.
- Cost Control: Monitor and manage operational costs to achieve budgeted targets while maintaining high-quality services.
- Maintenance and Logistics: Oversee the scheduling and execution of preventative maintenance activities, ensuring a safe and reliable facility.
- Talent Development: Lead the development and implementation of training programs to enhance operational staff skills and knowledge.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to occupational health and safety, environmental protection, and operational permits.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- 3 years' experience in a grain elevator or terminal in a leadership capacity
- Demonstrated experience in leading effective safety programs and managing maintenance teams
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate, service, and troubleshoot machinery
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
