Job Description
The RNG Compliance Manager will join the growing team at VBM and be responsible for ensuring compliance with EPA regulations under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), and managing Renewable Identification Number (RINs) reporting and certification processes. The successful candidate will also play a key role in obtaining RINs pathway certifications for new RNG plants and coordinating data requests for certification reviews.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Conduct monthly variance analyses, evaluate results, and recommend business process improvements.
- Develop and maintain accurate and timely reporting of key business drivers and KPIs.
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing operational data.
RINs Compliance and Certification:
- Audit documents to substantiate RINs certification transactions.
- Monitor monthly transportation fuel volumes to align with RNG plant production for RINs generation and reporting.
- Assist with monitoring and projecting RINs inventory.
- Provide accounting teams with information related to RINs transactions within the EPA Transaction System.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations by studying legislation and enforcing adherence to requirements.
- Assist with preparing and submitting monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory reports.
- Gather and submit documentation for EPA pathway certifications for new RNG plants and dispensing plans.
Pathway Certification and Audits:
- Coordinate Renewable Natural Gas plant initial Engineering Reviews and manage documentation for quarterly and annual audits by EPA contractors.
- Assist with submitting company plans, plant configurations, and regulatory pathway certifications.
Market Monitoring and Strategic Input:
- Monitor industry announcements and market transactions to provide guidance on RINs sales and planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Compliance, Accounting, or related field.
- 3 years of industry experience in compliance, auditing, accounting, or related field
- Advanced Excel modeling skills with a strong understanding of financial systems.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
