See all opportunities at VitriVax, Inc. by visiting our website: https://vitrivaxbio.com/ The Research Associate position in Preclinical Research is responsible for mammalian cell culture and the execution of cell-based methods to characterize ALTA™ vaccine formulations. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular or Cellular Biology, Immunology, Virology, or related area. Prior experience in mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays for gene expression or immune characterization are not required but would be beneficial. This is an entry level position for a candidate with a can-do attitude, eager to learn and to be part of a group of scientists. This role reports to the Cell-Based Assay Team Leader within Preclinical Research Division and will work with a team of Scientists for training and study execution. This is a full-time position, located in Boulder Colorado.
Description
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conducts mammalian cell culture maintenance and experimentation utilizing cells from primary tissues and from transformed cell lines
- Executes SOPs to conducts cell-based assays for research on mRNA stability or the immune response to ALTA™ vaccine products
- Assists with in-vivo studies
- Maintains laboratory notebook and equipment logs consistent with policies
- Plans, executes, and reports results from protocol driven research studies
- Authors study plans and SOPs as required and in line with Company policies
- Conducts literature reviews, reports summaries of findings and makes recommendations
- Assists with general lab operations to advance the goals of Preclinical Research including equipment maintenance, record upkeep, and organization
- Adheres to Company policies and safety guidelines
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, Virology, or related discipline
- Understanding of sterile technique
- Experience in mammalian cell culture and cell-based techniques is desired

Salary and Benefits
Salary for the position will be determined by the applicant’s experience and alignment with current and future responsibilities.
Annual Salary Range:
$60k - $100k annual base salary
