The HR Generalist is responsible for the administration/coordination/implementation of activities and tasks of employee relations, recruitment, selection and training, benefits administration, legal compliance, and the application of fair and consistent employee practices.

Position Overview
The HR Generalist is responsible for the administration/coordination/implementation of activities and tasks of employee relations, recruitment, selection and training, benefits administration, legal compliance, and the application of fair and consistent employee practices.
Responsibilities
- Staffing, including recruitment of hourly and non-exempt salaried positions; employee orientation, development and training; performance review process; leave administration and job posting process.
- Utilizes and applies employee interaction practices that support continued proactive/positive employee relations and ongoing union-free status within facility.
- Coordination of employee functions, meetings, celebrations, recognition, service awards, exit interviews and training programs (including all documentation).
- Health and welfare administration including benefits open enrollment and annual compensation/benefit surveys.
- Assists with the planning and administration of HR policies and procedures; maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems to effect continual improvement in efficiency and services.
- Maintains Human Resource Information System records and files, including EV5 and Etime; provides administrative support to all HR functions.
- Community relations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human resources, and minimum 1 year of experience
- A working knowledge of FMLA, HIPAA, COBRA and DOL guidelines and familiarity with applicable federal and state laws and benefits administration is required. Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
- The incumbent must maintain the highest level of integrity in the execution of his/her work, including handling matters requiring confidentiality. S/he must have demonstrated initiative, time management, project management, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) are needed.
