This role involves managing international freight, maintaining a strong compliance program, and communicating changes in US regulations and other government agencies to internal customers. Additionally, the analyst will assess and identify areas for improvement in our processes and procedures, perform root cause analyses, and provide recommendations.

Vitro is seeking an International Logistics Analyst to join our team, reporting to the US Manager of Transportation. This role involves managing international freight, maintaining a strong compliance program, and communicating changes in US regulations and other government agencies to internal customers. Additionally, the analyst will assess and identify areas for improvement in our processes and procedures, perform root cause analyses, and provide recommendations.
Primary Tasks &Responsibilities
- Oversee US Customs Operations: Facilitate the execution of inbound shipments, audit shipping documentation to confirm accurate information, and collaborate with carriers and customs brokers to ensure the timely clearance of cargo into and out of the U.S.
- Expertise in U.S. Customs Regulations: Strong knowledge of the US Code of Federal Regulations, specifically Title 15 and 19, as it relates to regulations for international trade, including import/export procedures, customs duties, and compliance with trade agreements.
- Knowledge of CBP's ACE System: Leverage the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) system to oversee the imports and exports of multiple EINs and efficiently download and distribute the Periodic Monthly Statement to internal finance and accounting teams.
- USMCA Compliance: Perform qualifications for free trade agreements and Certificates of Origin, coordinate files, respond to questionnaires, research regulatory changes, and provide necessary certificates to customers.
- Audit Performance: Perform audits on U.S. imports and be able to analyze and resolve discrepancies in customs documentation.
- Logistics Experience: Proven experience with international logistics and the ability to effectively communicate with freight forwarders, trucking companies, steamship lines, and customs brokers.
- Team Training: Train and advise internal team members on US customs regulations and procedures and maintaining compliance.
- Research Skills: Stay updated with changes in global trade laws and regulations and be able to convey these changes, as well as their projected impact, to upper management.
- CTPAT Management: Experienced in managing Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) compliance.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in international business, logistics, supply chain, or similar field
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in international logistics, trade compliance, supply chain management , or similar field
- Microsoft Outlook Proficiency: Monitor high levels of email traffic.
- Microsoft Excel Skills: Skilled in fundamental functionalities and proficient at analyzing large data sets using pivot tables, performing lookups, and other advanced analytics.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Adaptability: Perform and adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
- Independence: Work independently and make decisions without supervision.
- Remote Collaboration: Effectively work with remote team members.
