JOB SUMMARY
Monitors cardiac monitoring systems of adolescent, adult and geriatric patients on the Westcott/Beckler/Morrison Pavilion.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school graduate or certified equivalent
Licensure: None
Experience: Monitor Technician training program / Basic Arrhythmia course completion or experience equivalent.
Skills: Knowledge of dysrhythmia recognition by systematic as exhibited by demonstration during interview.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Works on Westcott/Beckler/Morrison Pavilion in the Telemetry Communications Center after completion of mandatory Basic Arrhythmia Course. Continuous interruptions inherent in work setting requires reporting rhythms and maintaining rhythm strips for chart documentation. Requires working twelve-hour shifts including days, nights and weekend work. Requires full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires moderate amount of sitting at the CRT and Central Monitoring Station as well as a Limited amount of walking and standing. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and ability to concentrate on monitors, written material including physicians orders and detail entry at CRT in the midst of other activities an interruptions.
