Position Summary:
The Fuel Delivery Truck Driver reports directly to the Terminal Manager and is responsible for the safe loading, unloading, transportation and delivery of heating fuel, gasoline, and propane from Vitus' Bethel terminal to various customer locations. This position requires a combination of skills and licensing, including but not limited to: Alaska Class A commercial driver license (CDL) with an X endorsement; mechanical aptitude to perform routine equipment maintenance; ability to serve customers in a positive, professional and ethical manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
This is a rotational position with a two-weeks-on and two-weeks-off schedule. Hours worked are Monday-Saturday, 10 hours/daily, with Sunday off. Includes paid travel expenses between Anchorage and Bethel, lodging in Company housing, and TOA food allowance of $250/weekly.
Essential Job Functions:
- Performs driver’s daily vehicle inspection report and records on proper company form.
- Provides exceptional customer service
- Maintains Alaska Class A CDL with X endorsement and all other requirements to perform driving duties as assigned
- Delivers fuel to customers in safe and timely manner
- Performs routine and/or minor maintenance on company equipment in accordance with company policy and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Maintains all driver related paperwork on a daily basis as directed by the Terminal Manager
- Maintains daily delivery log on proper company form
- Processes orders received via telephone, in person and website
- Performs local sales functions as appropriate and represents the company to local entities
- Reconciles truck inventory and customer delivery activity on a daily basis
- Climbs bulk tank ladders to gauge fuel quantities, pulls fuel samples and records fuel temperatures
- Performs gross to net fuel inventory calculations
- Loads fuel trucks at truck rack in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company procedures
- Performs bulk tank and truck spill containment water draws in accordance with company procedures
- Secures truck rack site and locks truck rack pumps, meters, and any other equipment on site at the end of the day

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- Two (2) years of related experience and/or training
- State of AK Class A CDL with X endorsement

(1 year of directly related work experience may qualify to substitute 1 year of education to meet the education requirement)
Required Training & Certificates:
- State of AK Class A CDL with X endorsement
- Attends training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by department.
- Computer skills commensurate with program and job applications.

The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles and equipment.
