The Server position at Viva Senior Living is a vital role that requires a team player who can maintain the highest standards of compassion and dignity towards our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent meal service to residents in the dining room, ensuring their total experience is positive and enjoyable.
- Participate in pre-service meetings and tastings to understand the meals being served.
- Be knowledgeable about menu items, including daily specials and special diet accommodations.
- Ensure food orders are correct and serve meals in courses as often as possible.
- Inform kitchen staff of any resident concerns regarding meal service.
- Remain available during meal service for assistance and notify medical staff of any medical emergencies or changes in eating habits.
- Work closely with the Food and Beverage Director, Dining Room Supervisor, Cooks, and fellow dining staff to provide exceptional service.
Requirements
- Annual health requirements include flu and COVID vaccines.
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday and cope with mental and emotional stress.
- Must be able to see, hear, or use prosthetics to ensure adequate senses to function.
- Meet general health requirements set forth by facility policies, including a medical and physical examination.
- Ability to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and agitated residents.
- Physical ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
