Job Title : Director of Accounting
Overview :
The Director of Accounting is responsible for preparing financial statements, forecasts, budgets, and business activity reports in compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as other regulatory mandates. This leadership role supports the Controller by overseeing core accounting operations, including managing staff responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue, general ledger accounting, and month-end financial reporting for the organization.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, while providing in-depth analyses and insights to internal and external stakeholders such as private equity firms and lenders.
- Oversee annual financial audits with external auditors and manage tax filings, collaborating with external tax accountants on partnership and C-Corp returns.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations by preparing regulatory reports, including use tax filings and state license renewals.
- Develop and refine accounting and budgeting policies in partnership with other departments, updating procedures to align with best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the Controller to design and implement strategies for financial planning, procurement, investments, and budgeting.
- Deliver detailed reports to the CFO and senior leadership, supporting organizational decision-making.
- Lead, mentor, and develop finance and accounting staff, delegating responsibilities effectively to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
- Engage with C-suite executives to provide strategic insights and regular financial updates, ensuring informed and proactive decision-making.
Qualifications :
PAY TRANSPARENCY : The estimated annual pay range for this position is $160k - $180k 20% bonus potential. Actual compensation will be determined by the hiring authority and may vary depending on qualifications and other factors relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
