Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) – Full-Time
Location: St. George, UT
Pay Range: $25.00 – $28.00/hour (DOE)

Position Summary
Vive Care is seeking a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) to design, lead, and evaluate therapeutic recreation programs for adolescents in a high-acuity mental health setting. The CTRS will support clients through structured activities that enhance emotional regulation, self-expression, and social connection. Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement individualized and group-based therapeutic recreation activities that align with treatment goals
Assess clients’ leisure functioning and maintain appropriate documentation
Collaborate with therapists, nursing, and direct care teams to integrate recreation into the broader treatment plan
Facilitate recreation groups that promote skill-building, emotional safety, and healthy peer interaction
Ensure safety during all recreational programming, including crisis de-escalation when needed
Track client progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust plans accordingly
Contribute to interdisciplinary treatment planning and discharge planning
Support weekend or special event programming when applicable

Requirements
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential (preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy or related field
Previous experience working with youth or adolescents in behavioral health settings (preferred)
Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations
Strong documentation and communication skills
Must be organized, compassionate, and team-oriented
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
