The intern for Supply Chain will work closely with the planning and transportation team. They will analyze transportation monthly spends to find potential cost savings initiatives. They will work with the planning team to create SOPs and organize drives to create a more concise close based storage for all Supply Chain documents. The internship program offers students the opportunity to learn from and work with some of the best in the business.
Responsibilities :
1. Analyze plant origin and customer destination routes, quotes, and carrier invoices to determine least cost route is being used
2. Analyze carrier invoices to customer invoices to ensure all transportation costs are being transferred. Document all costs that are being paid, but not contracted
3. Understand barely procurement worksheets to identify opportunities for more automation
4. Work with Planning team to understand daily tasks to create SOPs
5. Organize Supply Chain documents on Share Point
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS :
- High School Diploma or GED
- Currently enrolled as full-time student at an accredited college or university
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in business or otherwise related academic major
- Good academic standing
- US Citizen or legal right to work in the US.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook) and intranet / internet
- Participation in campus or related extracurricular activities.
- Demonstrates an ability to learn quickly and independently.
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written); able to communicate information in a clear, well-organized, and professional manner.
- Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated interest in enhancing knowledge; seeks opportunities to learn and grow.
