Responsibilities
Engineering Inspectors and Technicians will perform routine inspections, field testing, laboratory testing on construction materials (concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, etc.) for the purpose of verifying conformance to construction plans and specifications. Testing may include soil classification, sieve analysis, gradation, PI, moisture content, air content, slump, density, and proctors. Inspections of work elements may include asphalt paving, concrete paving, structural concrete, utilities, stormwater, traffic control, masonry, etc. Follow proper procedures, perform accurate computations, and maintain cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, contractors, etc. Prepare daily field reports, test reports, and data sheets.
Qualifications
Looking for Experienced and Entry Level Candidates
Positions are for full-time work along the Front Range – Fort Collins to Pueblo with focused work in the Denver Metro Area and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Night, weekend and holiday work may be required. Work beyond eight hours per day and beyond 40 hours per week is typically required. Travel within the state and out of state may be required under certain circumstances.
Out of town work should be expected. Lodging and per diem are provided.
1 to 10 years of construction materials testing and / or inspection experience required. ( Willing to train the right person
One or more of the following certifications (or equivalent) are preferred : WAQTC, ACI Field Grade 1, ACI Lab, ACI Strength, and CAPA Level A & B. Pay raises for obtaining certifications (Hands on training provided).
One or more of the following CDOT certifications are a plus : LIMS, Plan Reading, Math, Survey, TECS, TCS.
Will be required to maintain current certifications. Additional certification training available.
Above average proactive communication skills, knowledge of construction practices, willingness to learn and an overall passion for continual improvement.
High school diploma or equivalent. AA or equivalent to include courses in building inspection, home inspection, construction technology, drafting and mathematics preferred.
- Knowledge and use of MS Office, including Word and Excel is required.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and ability to pass drug test required.
Must be able to pass background check.
Must be able to pass Drug Test.
Relatively clean driving record required.
Must be able to work Night Shifts, Weekends, and out of town as needed.
