We’re looking to add a MN based Part-Time WordPress Programmer to our team. Vivid Image is a rapidly growing marketing agency based in Hutchinson, MN, comprised of cross-functional teams across our organization working with clients throughout Minnesota and worldwide. Ideal candidates will possess a wide range of web development capabilities with a solid background in WordPress site development and PHP programming. Programmers work closely with a team of designers, online marketers, copywriters, and account directors.
Consistent with the vision and values of Vivid Image, programmers take websites through the build process, integrate third-party platforms, software, plug-ins, and make online processes as seamless as possible. Problem-solving, documentation, attention to detail, organization, and communication skills are required for this position. It’s imperative that everyone at Vivid Image is able to work both independently and collaboratively to meet client needs and meaningfully contribute to the team
Responsibilities:
- WordPress, plug-in, server, and website updates
- Research programming, functionality, trends, tools
- Apply knowledge of web development principles and usability standards
- Website development
- Develop queries based on project needs
- E-commerce builds
- Google Analytics Integration and event tracking, reporting
- Technical, email, and server support
- DNS records
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting
- Attend scheduled intake, strategy, and brainstorming sessions with clients
- Communicate project updates in a timely manner
- Attend and participate in client meetings, as well as internal meetings
- Assist Account Directors/Sales roles with project scope, time estimates, & quotes
- Perform other duties as assigned
Core Competencies:
- WordPress Site Development using the core Gutenberg Editor.
- Theme and/or Plugin Development Experience is a plus.
- Strong PHP programming skills
- Working with 3rd Party APIs or services is a plus
- Experience with JavaScript/jQuery
- Solid understanding of MySQL databases and queries
- Experience & solid understanding of domains, domain transfers, and DNS records
- Experience troubleshooting email delivery issues.
