We’re currently looking for a passionate, experienced Energy Manager to help us to deliver our ambitious energy and sustainability strategy and net zero investment programme.
We offer a flexible approach to working between home and our offices in Portsmouth or Basingstoke. This is a full-time permanent position, working 37 hours per week with a minimum of 20% of this to be office based to promote collaboration and team working within the Sustainability team and other colleagues across the business.

As the Energy Manager you’ll develop and lead our strategic approach to energy management. The key focus for this role will be to develop and implement strategies and business cases for the decarbonisation of energy infrastructure (such as heat networks) for new build and existing schemes. You’ll also support maintenance and investment teams to control the cost, consumption and carbon emissions of our landlord utilities supplies.
This role will also be responsible for compliance with all heat, energy and carbon regulations and champion energy efficiency across our directorates by providing advice, training and support to colleagues to raise awareness of energy management. It will also be responsible for managing heat metering and billing contracts and utilities procurement. As such you’ll hold experience of energy management within a multisite organisation ideally in a housing context. You’ll also have proven experience of managing heat networks, multi-site utilities procurement, budget preparation, project management and financial planning and forecasting.
Ideally, you’ll hold an energy management or building services qualification and either a Membership (or working towards) at advanced level CIBSE, the Energy Institute, the Energy Managers Association or similar.
Due to the nature of this role and occasional visits to site, you’ll need to hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work travel.
First stage interviews will be held in our Portsmouth office week commencing 28 April
