Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking an exceptional senior backend developer with robust Python and SQL skills to join our team. You will play a crucial role in building complex business operations logic. You should have a proven track record of building high-quality software, solving complex problems, and thriving in collaborative environments. Experience in regulated cloud environments like HIPAA or PCI is a plus. Our approach values autonomy over micromanagement and seeks reliable, committed team members. This is a Hybrid role with in-office days in our Hayward, CA office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be instrumental in the architecture, engineering, development, and quality assurance of data-producing/consuming software, working closely with a small, distributed, dynamic, engineering team.
- Produce high-quality software that is well-designed, maintainable, well-documented, unit-tested, code-reviewed and checked regularly.
- Work with Product to manage the development lifecycle using Jira. Thrive on fast iteration and testing.
- Assist in ensuring systems remain HIPAA and SOC2-compliant
- Support distributed web applications in a complex, and evolving environment.
- Work throughout the application and infrastructure project: including design, architecture, communication, monitoring, availability, scaling, failover, and recovery.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of building software in regulated environments & security standards such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and NIST.
- BS or advanced degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- Experience in healthcare applications preferred.
- 2 years’ hands-on experience with Python, overall 5 years of programming experience.
- Strong data quality background
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL
- Experience working with restful APIs, micro-services, & Atlassian toolset
- Operations experience
- A clear, effective communicator: Both with engineers and other stakeholders.
- Work a Hybrid schedule in the Bay Area- Hayward CA
- Extreme attention to detail

- Base Salary: $120-160K/year
