The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide rehabilitative services to patients with physical, emotional, or developmental impairments. The OTA will assist in developing and implementing treatment plans aimed at improving patients' functional abilities, enhancing their independence, and optimizing their quality of life.
- Assist the OT in evaluating patients' physical and cognitive abilities to develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Implement therapeutic activities and exercises as prescribed by the OT to enhance patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being.
- Instruct patients in the use of adaptive equipment and techniques to improve their daily living skills and independence.
- Monitor and document patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary under the guidance of the OT.
- Educate patients and their families on the benefits of occupational therapy and ways to support ongoing rehabilitation at home.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of patient treatments, progress notes, and other relevant documentation in compliance with Vivo Healthcare policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
- Participate in team meetings, in-service training, and continuing education opportunities to enhance professional development and maintain current knowledge in the field.
- Adhere to all ethical and professional standards of practice as outlined by state and national regulatory bodies.
