The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist (PT) to provide rehabilitative services to patients with physical impairments or disabilities. The PTA will assist in developing and implementing treatment plans aimed at improving patients' mobility, strength, and overall functional abilities, thereby enhancing their independence and quality of life.
- Assist the PT in assessing patients' physical abilities and limitations to develop effective treatment plans.
- Implement prescribed physical therapy interventions, including exercises, therapeutic activities, and modalities, to improve patients' physical function and mobility.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises and activities to be performed at home to support ongoing rehabilitation.
- Monitor and document patients' progress, communicating any changes or concerns to the supervising PT.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of patient treatments, progress notes, and other relevant documentation in compliance with Vivo Healthcare policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
- Participate in team meetings, in-service training, and continuing education opportunities to enhance professional development and maintain current knowledge in the field.
- Adhere to all ethical and professional standards of practice as outlined by state and national regulatory bodies.
